On today’s WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, we covered a number of subjects with Brunswick School Superintendent Phil Potenziano ahead of tonight’s public hearing at Brunswick Toiwn Hall on his budget proposal for the school year ahead.
The superintendent called out hate speech on the part of some Zoom participants in the public comment portion of last week’s Brunswick council meeting, where there were racist and anti-Semtic references.
Five public comment speakers also falsely stated that the asylum seekers at Brunswick Landing are illegal immigrants.
The superintendent also commented on this year’s success of the Brunswick Dragons’ girls basketball team and on the plan in the neighboring RSU-1 school district to implement a course called “Adulting 101” with instruction on personal finance and other day-to-day life issues that students will face after high school graduation.
