26-year-old Bath resident John Dunne Jr. has been taken to the regional jail in Wiscasset after being charged with a total of three counts–one a felony–after a month-long investigation of two incidents in which Dunne is suspected of posting nude photos of other people onto the internet. In one of the incidents, Dunne is suspected of stealing a photo from a victim’s cellphone and posting it.
Bath police say they have investigated many such cases. In other instances, private images were texted to others, such as ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends, who then either posted the pictures themselves or sent the images to other people.
Police remind people to safeguard their private images and not post the private images of anyone else without their consent.
