Breaking News from WCME: Shooting in Bath, Sketch of Rape Suspect in Brunswick

In Bath, authorities are investigating what may have been an accidental shooting in the parking lot of Shaw’s supermarket, but police are not yet certain and say they located a female in a vehicle who sustained a gunshot wound to the head, and is now at Maine Medical Center. The suspected shooter is said to be an acquaintance of the victim and police have interviewed several witnesses. So far no arrests, and no nameshave been released.

Brunswick police have released a composite sketch of a so-called “person of interest” in the sexual assault on a female student reported last week in the college-owned Mayflower apartments. Police commander Mark Walz says the man was seen loitering near the Mayflower on the night in question. The suspect is described as 5-10 to 6 feet in height, and slender, and was seeen wearing layered clothing with the outer layer being red. He was not wearing a hat or glasses and was wearing dark blue or black pants.
