From WCME – Your 24/7 Midcoast Breaking News Leader
While the Brunswick School Board has yet to discuss the matter, School Superintendent Phil Potenziano, on the WCME Midcoast Morning Buzz, says he sees no cell phone “crisis” in the school system.
This, as numerous school boards throughout the nation, including Bath-based RSU-1, are enacting cell phone bans in middle and high schools.
Potenziano, however, says he HAS heard from quite a few parents asking for the ability to communicate with students in the event of an emergency.
Freeport-based RSU-5 Superintendent Jean Skorapa recently raised the same question in saying that a commitee studying the issue had recommended no broad-based cell phone policy change in that system.
The full Midcoast Morning Buzz interview with Phil Potenziano, in which Jim Bleikamp asked about the possibility of making the superintendent’s annual evaluation by the school board a PUBLIC event, is right here.
