Here are the actual words spoken by Governor LePage in a voicemail message to Democratic state representative Drew Gattine. A television reporter had told LePage that Gattine had called LePage a racist–which Gattine denies doing.

This latest controversy follows remarks Wednesday night in North Berwick, where LePage stated that 90 percent of drug arrests in Maine involve blacks and Hispanics.
